White Christmas

For the first time ever, my kids enjoyed a 'White Christmas'. We were fortunate to meet with all of my family in Park City at a 'cabin' my sister and brother-in-law are buying. It was just a fantastic week. We started it off on Wednesday the 22nd with a ride on the Polar Express. The kids got to drink hot chocolate and then visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It was fun. [We rode the Heber, UT train. Highly recommended, especially for the little kids].

On Christmas eve, we got two separate visits from Santa! What a treat for the kids! You can see the pictures below. It was a fun week in the snow, with some sled riding and lots of games with the family. Great fun all around. Some even got to spend their Christmas money on clothes at the outlet stores (I used mine on a new XBOX game when we got back home).

We returned in time to spend New Years at JoLynn's brother Russ's new home. All of her family were there and we had fun with a few fire works and some games. It has been a great couple of weeks. I don't think anyone is ready to return to school. I'm hoping that the job picture will quickly turn bright, but in the mean-time, I have a HUGE honey-do list and I have also agreed to do some computer support work on the side to bring in a little cash flow.

One of the real highlights of our trip to Utah was the opportunity last Sunday to attend Church in Park City. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland was also in town with his family. He spoke in Sacrament meeting and shared his testimony. I have always enjoyed hearing him speak, beginning in my freshman days at BYU. He gave some terrific comments that really touched us and helped to keep the right perspective on why we celebrate this season. I hope I can carry that Spirit in to the New Year. And we wish you, all the best in the New Year.
